FREE EVENTThunderstorms can produce extreme turbulence, intense rain, destructive hail, blinding lightning, tornados, and gusty winds...sometimes as far as 20 miles from the storm. The good news is...they can be avoided. We'll discuss strategies and practical experience to develop tools you can put in your airman toolbox to help you make safe aeronautical decisions in regards to flying and thunderstorms.
Each pilot that is flying out to a destination is doing so at their own discretion and the flight must be planned by each pilot. Also, a hold harmless agreement of Sauk Valley Pilots Association must be signed to participate. If the PIC does not feel comfortable with weather conditions or anything else, it is up to that pilot to make that go/no-go decision.
